COUNCIL MARKS ARMED FORCES DAY IN EPPING

Cllr. Mrs. Penny Smith, Chairman of Epping Forest District Council raised the Armed Forces Day flag next to the Union Jack at the Civic Offices in Epping High Street where it shall fly all week. Cllr. Mrs. Smith was accompanied by a piper from the Epping Forest Pipe Band and supported by the Rev'd Bryony Morrison. For more information about Armed Forces Day, please click here.
The event was also celebrated by British troops in Iraq, such as the Kuqait Support Facility. Pictured above are AB1 Amy Cooperthwaite of the Royal Navy, aged 25, Private Kayleigh Dring who is an Army Medic, aged 21 and Cpl Lisa Dowling of the Royal Air Force, aged 28 in front of a Heavy Equipment Transporter. Cpl Lisa Dowling said "I feel that the Armed Forces Day has been a long time coming”, whilst AB1 Amy Cooperthwaite said "I feel proud to be celebrating Armed Forces Day."
