TRAVEL INFORMATION - London Tube Strike

The RMT Union have called a strike on all London Underground lines from 7pm on Tuesday 9th until Thursday 11th June 2009. If the strike goes ahead, Tube services will not return to normal until Friday morning. Oyster pay as you go will be accepted on National Rail journeys in Greater London.

A wide range of alternative transport is available and passengers should consider using the Bus, Overground, DLR and River services. Cycling or Walking will also be practical options for many. For the latest information, and help planning your journeys,

  1. Has anyone worked out a public transport route to London from Epping yet? This strike is really annoying!!

  2. Loly2kn2, I believe busses will be running from Epping Station and visiting each station on the central line into London. This is obviously an incredably painful journey and may take as long as you will actually spend at your desk. Many employers are telling staff to work from home, or are paying for staff to get taxi's into the office. The fact that this is our only option is pretty dire. The alternative, of course, is to go to either Harlow Town or Chingford and use the overhead trains into Liverpool Street and walk, bus or cab the rest of your journey. No fun at all...!!
